About the Global Building Network

The Global Building Network facilitates evidence to action through global partnerships and network-to-network connections to accelerate decarbonization of the built environment at scale. This initiative was established in 2018 as a formal partnership between the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and Penn State as a pillar of the UNECE High Performance Buildings Initiative to coordinate the development of a global research, education, and outreach consortium on high-performance buildings. Today the Global Building Network is comprised of 40+ global partnerships and network-to-network connections. Initiatives and programs of the Global Building Network align with multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
